Song:
If You Are Wearing Red
If
you are wearing red, Shake your head,
If you are wearing red, Shake your head,
If you are wearing red,
Then please shake your head.
If you are wearing red, shake your head.
If you are wearing red, Shake your head,
If you are wearing red,
Then please shake your head.
If you are wearing red, shake your head.
Blue,
touch your shoe
Green, bow like a queen
Yellow, Shake like Jell-O
Green, bow like a queen
Yellow, Shake like Jell-O
Discuss:
What are the colors of the rainbow? Red,
orange, yellow, green, blue, purple
Snack:
Rainbows made from sugar cookies or Rainbow fruit kabobs with different colored fruit.
Do-A-Dot Rainbow
I found this Do-A-Dot Rainbow for T complete. We just added a purple dot in the small arch at the bottom.
Rainbow Match
Make
a poster board rainbow and have the child sort color craft sticks onto the
correct colors.
Pattern Cards
I gave T some pattern cards and colored pom-poms. He put the colored pom-poms on the corresponding color on the pattern card.
Color Wheel
Give the child a blank color wheel and put some paint on the primary sections... let the
child finger paint the color wheel.
Animal Cottage
T played with his colored Animal Cottage. He opens each door with the corresponding key and lets all of the shapes out. Then locks the doors back up and put the shapes in where they go.
Sorting Color Dolls
T sorted the alphabet dolls according to the color of their clothes. He liked making them hold hands.
Sticker Sorting
Divide the paper into 6 sections and write the name of
the color for that section in that color. Then let the child put
colored stickers in the correct section.
